This webpage contains online resources for students of English language, linguistics and literature. Just scroll down to the 'useful internet resources' below.

University of Sunderland students have full online access to the following journals - go to the library home page, then Journal Search (log in using your university ID and password).

Discourse and Society; Journal of Sociolinguistics; Language and Communication; Language and Literature; Media, Culture and Society; Children's Literature in Education; Journal of Pragmatics; Linguistics and Education; Journal of Phonetics; Lingua; Language Sciences;Speech Communication; Journal of Communication Disorders.

Dozens of literature journals can be accessed through Literature Online (log on via Athens), together with the following language journals: English Language and Linguistics; Journal of Linguistics; Literary and Linguistic Computing; Language Variation and Change; Language in Society; Style.

Some useful study skills material (including stuff on citations and referencing) is provided on the University of Sunderland library’s Self Help pages. Skills4study is web resource from Palgrave that highlights many aspects of learning and study skills. To help develop the critical thinking required for internet research, take a look at Internet Detective (or Internet for English). And the Research Observatory is helpful too. Sunderland University’s Learning Development Services provides study support for students.
